Two senseless acts of vandalism occurred overnight that the Greater Sudbury Police Service are now investigating.

The first occurred in the area of Bancroft Drive and Third Avenue in Sudbury. Overnight, an unknown suspect (or suspects) caused thousands of dollars of damage to a Northway Bus Lines school bus parked in the area. The fire extinguisher was emptied in the bus, the crossing arm was torn off, the mirrors were smashed and the interior seats were ripped up.

The second occurred at the apartment complex located at 404 Westmount Ave.  According to a police press release, an unknown suspect, most likely suspects, attended this complex overnight and managed to topple cement picnic tables and cement garbage bins into the swimming pool. Specialized equipment will be required to remove the cement fixtures from the pool. It is unknown as to whether or not the pool itself was damaged as a result. The damage is estimated at $10,000 or more.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is seeking witnesses to these events or contact with anyone who may have information as to who was responsible. Crime Stoppers will offer a cash reward for anonymous information leading to an arrest in either of these events.
