Victims assaulted with knife, liquor bottle

A 44-year-old man was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation after attacking two people in the early morning of March 13 at a Montgomery Street home in Levack.

A 19-year-old man was assaulted with a knife and required several stitches to his hand. He also suffered a separated shoulder in the altercation.

A 20-year-old woman was struck in the head with a liquor bottle. The suspect also received a cut on his hand.

The suspect and the two victims received medical attention at St. Joseph's Health Centre.

The suspect remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
