A 65-year-old woman received minor injuries Feb. 16 at around 9 a.m. after she was run over by her own vehicle in an incident the police are calling "a most unusual motor vehicle accident."
The woman entered her van, put it in reverse, and attempted to adjust her seat. In doing so, she opened the driver's door, adjusted her seat, and at the same time reached for an ice scraper.
She fell out of her seat, and the vehicle continued in reverse. She was struck by the open door, which knocked her under the moving vehicle.
The investigation revealed that the van ran over the woman's head. She was taken to hospital, was treated for minor injuries, and ultimately released.
