Cambrian running squad turns in great result

The Cambrian Golden Shield cross-country running team had a spectacular finish over the past weekend at the St. Lawrence Invitational race in Kingston.

The Cambrian College cross-country running teams enjoyed tremendous success this past weekend.
The women's team placed first overall and the men's squad finished third overall. The two teams are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 1 when they compete at Sir Sanford Fleming College.

Cambrian's varsity teams are in full swing and many will be looking to continue solid play this coming weekend.

The men's basketball team dropped a 87-63 decision to Algoma University in exhibition roundball action this past weekend.

The men are pumped up for the upcoming weekend as they host the Cambrian Invitational Tournament. The event takes place Friday and Saturday at the college.

The women's fastball team was swept by visiting St. Clair College this past weekend at the Cambrian Field. The Golden Shield lost 6-1 and 8-1.

The women are back at it this weekend when they host Durham College for a pair of games. Game one goes Friday, at 7 pm, while the second match takes place Saturday at 12 noon.

Finally, the men's and women's soccer teams produced mixed results this past weekend.

The women tied Redeemer College 1-1. Lee Martin scored the lone goal for Cambrian. The men lost 2-1 to Redeemer. Mark Bauer scored for Cambrian.

The soccer teams are off this week.
