Figure and fitness champ earns third at nationals

Sudbury's Aleisha Hart has placed third in Canada for her figure division at the Canadian National Figure and Fitness Championships held in New Westminster, British Columbia this past weekend.

"I'm ecstatic to know that I'm a national champion," said the athlete who was representing Ontario and is working towards achieving her pro card.

Hart has been training for five years and placed first at the provincials this year which qualified her to compete in the Canadian nationals.

ALEISHA HART That was the first time Hart has competed at a national level and is very proud of her achievement. She said she was hoping to at least place in the top 10.

Hart will be representing Canada Aug. 29-31 in Cleveland, Ohio at the IFBB North American Championships after winning the world qualifier last year in Toronto at York University.
