Greyhounds take Wolves in shootout

It took a nine round shootout but the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds escaped Sudbury with a 4-3 win over the Wolves.

Sudbury then rallied to score three times before the end of the period. Scoring for the Wolves was Zach McCullough on the power play, Andrew Self and Devin Didiomete.

The second period would see the Greyhounds battle back and tie the game at 3-3 with a pair of goals from David Kuchejda, the first coming with the man advantage.

After a scoreless third period and overtime, the game went to a shootout. The Greyhounds' Thornton shot first and scored. Justin Donati and Nick Foligno were stopped before Kevin Baker scored to send the shootout to sudden death. A total of 18 players shot before Brandon MacLean secured the win for the Greyhounds.
