The Rayside Balfour Icy Tigers novice hockey team attended the WER (Walden Espanola Rayside) Novice Division "A" Playoff in Azilda this past weekend and left with the Division "A" Championship trophy.
The final was a hard-fought battle with the Walden Flyers that ended in a 6-2 victory for the Icy Tigers. The team went on playing the round robin without losing any of their games. 
Round robin scores were 3-3 against the Rayside Avalanche, 4-3 over the Walden Flyers and 5-0 over the Rayside Mighty Claws.
The Icy Tigers placed third within the Novice WER Division consisting of 11 teams with a season final of 15 wins, three loses and two ties. The team then went on to capture top spot in the playoffs over the weekend.
