Pair of Sudbury rinks headed to U-18 provincial curling championships

Two rinks from Sudbury will be in Fort Frances this week to take part in the Northern Ontario Under 18 Provicial Curling Championships.

The Nickel City won't have any representation on the boys' side of the draw, but a pair of girls' rinks will take to the ice at the Fort Frances Curling Club starting March 7.

Bella Croisier's rink from the Idylwylde Golf and Curling Club will be one of eight rinks on the girls' side vying for gold. The rink consists of Bella Croisier (skip), Jamie Smith (vice), Piper Croisier (second), and Lauren Rajala (lead).

Curl Sudbury will also be represented at the competition, with Mia Toner's rink looking to take their shot at the title. Toner skips a team that also includes, Valerie Ouimet (vice), Emilie Glabb (second), ande Justine Toner (lead).

Coincidentally, the two Sudbury rinks will go head to head in draw number one to kick off the championship at 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
