J.D. Heffern, president of Xilarate will
officially launch his new, healthy sports drink on Thursday
morning at Parker House.
The drink, which can be consumed before,
during and after intense sporting activities, was developed by
Heffern, a Sudbury resident, along with Dr. Tony Martin Sr. and
Tony Martin Jr., who provided the science behind the
drink.
Xilarate comes in three flavours, orange,
lemon-lime and fruit punch. The drink, thanks to its healthy
ingredients, addresses all kinds of concerns for
athletes.
Most importantly, the drink features
dextrose, a sugar the body needs, instead of high fructose corn
syrup, which can hamper an athlete's performance or recovery.
Xilarate balances the blood-sugar level, slows down lactic acid
build up, hydrates the body, addresses free radical damage and
replaces essential electrolytes.
"We have a cutting-edge product," said
Heffern.
