The Sudbury Wolves did not fare well on the road this weekend, losing 5-2 Thursday night to the Peterborough Petes, following that up with a 4-1 loss to the Kingston Frontenacs Friday night and a 4-3 loss to the Ottawa 67s Sunday afternoon.

The Sudbury Wolves kicked-off their three game road trip at the Peterborough Memorial Centre Thursday as they faced-off against the Petes.

With final shots on net 36-33, the Petes captured the two points as they took a 5-2 win over the Wolves.

Quinton Byfield and Nolan Hutcheson were the lone goal scorers for the Wolves, while Owen Robinson and Blake McConville both earned assists.

On Friday, Nolan Hutcheson visited his hometown in Kingston at the Leon’s Centre as the Wolves faced-off against former teammates Dawson Baker and Conor Ali and the rest of the Frontenacs.

Despite their best efforts, the Wolves were unable to put together the win falling 4-1 with shots on goal 30-25 in favour of the Wolves.

Quinton Byfield was the lone goal scorer for the Wolves with Emmett Serensits picking up the assist.

The Sudbury Wolves then traveled to Ottawa Sunday to wrap up their Eastern Conference road swing. It made for an exciting game where Peter Stratis faced off against his former team at TD Place to wrap up the three-game weekend road trip. Despite solid efforts from the Wolves, they fell 4-3 in overtime to the high flying 67’s with Kody Clark scoring the overtime winner.

David Levin scored two, earning second star of the game and Macauley Carson notched one in the loss. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 45 saves.

The Wolves return to action Friday, Nov. 2, when they host the Erie Otters for Rod Schutt’s jersey retirement night and #HuntForACure in support of Northern Cancer Foundation.

A pre-game ceremony will welcome Rod and his family and former teammates attending the game including Wes Jarvis, John Baby, Randy Carlyle, Mike Foligno and Ron Duguay. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

It will be a double-header weekend, as the Wolves return to the ice on Sunday, Nov. 4 for the annual Remembrance Day game at 3:05 p.m. Tickets are at greatersudbury.ca/tickets.
