The Sudbury Wolves are kicking off the 2009-10 season with a new look.

On Wednesday, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), in association with Reebok Hockey, announced a league-wide launch of the Reebok Edge Uniform System for the top major junior hockey league in the world.

Each of the CHL's 60 teams, including the Sudbury Wolves, introduced new home and away jersey designs for the upcoming season.

Returning Sudbury Wolves players Kyle Tarini and Chris Van Laren modeled the new jerseys at a press conference Wednesday. Both said they were impressed with the new designs. “They look pro,” Van Laren added.

Similar uniforms were launched in the National Hockey League (NHL) and American Hockey League (AHL) in the 2007-08 season.

“Every player in the CHL will now benefit from the same advantages as the pros with our lightweight, moisture-wicking materials and innovative design,” said Glen Thornborough, vice-president, global sports marketing Reebok-CCM.

“These young players are the future of the sport and now have the best products available to them. We're excited to provide them with the tools needed to advance to the next level.”
