The Sudbury Wolves are on a roll after beating Barrie 3-2 in overtime Monday night to grab a commanding 3-0 lead in their best of seven Eastern Conference semi-final against the Colts.

The Wolves have now won all three games in the series in overtime.

Devin DiDiomete played the hero in Barrie as he scored a rebound goal at the 3:42 mark of the first overtime to put the Wolves into hysteria.

Despite an onslaught of penalties, the Wolves battled the Colts every step of the way.

Sudbury had to overcome a steady parade to the sin bin as they were called for seven penalties alone in the first period to Barrie's three.

Goalie Sebastian Dahm was sensational again, making 55 saves for his seventh victory of the playoffs. He made 16 saves in the first period and another 23 in the second to give the Wolves a chance to win.

Wolves head coach and GM Mike Foligno praised his troops for staying focused and gutting out another big overtime win against a team that finished 30 points ahead of them in the regular season.

"There was a lot of emotion tied up in the game," said the coach. "We battled hard all night.

"Unfortunately we were on the wrong side of a lot of penalties early on. I have to give the team credit...they put it aside and did the job they had to do.

"We persevered and they did an outstanding job killing the penalties. They found a rhythm in the second period and then they took the play to Barrie in the third period.

"In the overtime, Barrie threw everything they had at us. They got caught up ice and Kevin Baker and Matt Dias each put in a great second effort to get the puck down the ice and get a shot off. Devin was there to grab the rebound and score."

Once again, the Wolves got fine performances from their entire lineup. Jonathan D'Aversa scored his first of the playoffs, while Gerome Giudice tallied his third of the playoffs to round out Sudbury's scoring. Giudice had only two goals during the regular season.

"To beat a team like Barrie, you need everyone contributing something and we had that tonight," said Foligno. "We're playing hard and, right now, we're not giving up an inch of ice...we deserve what we got."

Foligno couldn't help but praise his goaltender, who has been getting better with each game in the playoffs.

"Sebastian played a great game," said the coach. "He held the fort for us all night and gave us a chance to win. He's been playing well for us for about a month. Now, he's playing with a lot of confidence. He knows he can be a factor for us and he's coming up with clutch saves."

Now, the Wolves will set their sights on driving the nail in the coffin against Barrie Wednesday night at the Sudbury Arena.

Game time is 7:30 pm.

Tickets went on sale Tuesday morning at the Sudbury Arena box office.

"We have good leadership and maturity on this team...and it's helping everyone focus," said Foligno. "We have to maintain that focus and drive on Wednesday.

"We need solid defence from everyone and we have to take every opportunity we have to get pucks on net. Barrie played us tough and will play us even tougher. We have to play our best game on Wednesday."
