Marathon runner wins first place

Sudbury native Karen Cowling won the women's division of the recent London Life Marathon in London. The marathon was the showcase event for the Forest City Road Races. Cowling finished the 42.

Hockey

The Valley East Lions won the NEHL division A Bantam championship. They finished the season with a 22-0-1 record and also won two local tournaments: the Espanola Spring Break and the Verner tournament.
