Those opposed to the province's new sex ed curriculum will protest at MPPs' offices across the province Sept. 2.

The series of protests have been organized by member groups of the Canadian Families Alliance, including the Campaign Life Coalition, GTA Parents Association, Muslim Moms Empowerment Network, My Child My Choice and Real Women of Canada, among others.

Locally, a protest will take place from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Nickel Belt MPP France Gélinas' office, located in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre. A protest is not yet listed for Sudbury MPP Glenn Thibeault's office.

“Wynne's total disregard for the concerns of hundreds of thousands of parents is completely unacceptable, and if she doesn't want to listen to parents, hopefully the Members of Provincial Parliament who represent them will,” said Christina Liu, president of the Parents Alliance of Ontario.

“It's time for the Wynne Liberal government to respect parents' authority as primary educators and to drop its plan to foist this unpopular, age-inappropriate and overly explicit school program on our children,” said Jack Fonseca, rally co-ordinator for Campaign Life Coalition.
