Father Bernard Cloutier will be back in Sudbury court on the morning of July 21, following a preliminary inquiry hearing that took place recently.

Cloutier is facing allegations of  sexually assaulting several young boys between 1979 and 1983 while he was a priest in Chelmsford and Espanola.

The Roman Catholic priest turned himself into police in February after being notified of 10 new charges against him. He has hired North Bay defence lawyer Gregory Ellies to represent him.

Charges against Cloutier were first laid in June of 2007, when he was  a priest at Saints-Anges Roman Catholic Church in North Bay. The charges included two counts each of sexual assault, indecent assault on a male, and gross indecency involving two victims. He has since been relieved of his duties at the church.
