Teen driver faces stunt driving charges

The Sudbury OPP charged a teenager with stunt driving on Highway 144 near Dowling on March 22. At around 2:50 p.m., police observes a southbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and was subsequently pulled over.

The Sudbury OPP charged a teenager with stunt driving on Highway 144 near Dowling on March 22.

At around 2:50 p.m., police observes a southbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and was subsequently pulled over.

The driver, an 18-year-old woman from Azilda, was charged with racing a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle she was operating was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on May 2.
