Local boxer Phil Boudreault has won his first ever professional fight. Boudreault, 31, fought Tebor Brosch from Mississauga on the under card of the Steve Molitor IBF featherweight title defence fight at Casino Rama in Orillia.

Some of the top high school hockey players gathered at the Countryside Arena Thursday night to test their skills at the annual SDSSAA All-Star game.

BY SCOTT HADDOW Laurentian University women's basketball team head coach Mike Clarke has firmly established himself as one of the best in the OUA.

Both the Laurentian University men's and women's basketball teams went 1-1 over the weekend at the Ben Avery Gymnasium. The Lady Vees thumped RMC 108-53, but lost 73-71 to Queen's.

The Sudbury Junior Wolves take on the Soo Thunderbirds Wednesday night at the McClelland Arena. Game time is 7:30 pm. Sudbury will be hungry for a win as they've dropped two straight games heading into the match.

The SUDSbury Shooters from Sudbury will be helping make history as they will compete in the Source For Sports Canadian National Pond Hockey Championships, which is the largest event yet in it's three years of existence.
