BY HEIDI ULRICHSEN Like many Second World War veterans, 83-year-old Wilbert Spencer considers himself lucky to be alive. On D-Day, June 6, 1944, the man was one of a wave of soldiers who braved enemy fire to wade onto the beaches of Normandy, France.
