Sudbury Wolves players Nick Foligno and Ryan Crouch, along with the team mascot, Howler, made the holidays a little bit brighter for some sick kids at St. Joseph's Health Centre Wednesday.

Mike Savage, a former player and assistant coach with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves, has passed away Dec. 19 at the age of 42. Savage played for the Wolves from 1980 to 1984, registering 25 points and 111 penalty minutes in 98 games.

For just the second time all season, the Kal Tire Sudbury Junior Wolves have been bumped out of the penthouse of the NOJHL standings. Abitibi passed them this past weekend by one point, but Sudbury has played five less games.

With a win on home ice versus Brampton Friday, and road wins in Peterborough and Mississauga to round out the weekend, the Sudbury Wolves are entering the OHL's Christmas break on a hot streak.
