Police make arrest after 17-year-old stabbing victim dies in downtown homicide
An 18-year-old male has been arrested, Greater Sudbury Police Service tweeted this morning, in relation to the homicide that occurred on Cedar Street on Nov. 15. Greater Sudbury Police said the arrest was made at 8:15 a.m. on Nov. 16. Read the full story here.
Traffic stop results in drug charges for both driver, passenger
West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police arrested two residents of Spanish Tuesday after what began as a routine traffic stop. On Nov. 12 around 8:45 p.m., police were conducting radar enforcement when the driver of a speeding motor vehicle was found to be under suspension and both driver and passenger were in possession of suspected controlled substances. Two arrested in relation to Elliot Lake robbery
East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police have arrested two individuals believed to be related to a robbery that occurred around four kilometres from where the suspects were eventually found. On Nov. 12, the suspect is reported to have entered a convenience store on Hillside Drive North in Elliot Lake, brandished two knives, held a staff member against their will, and then stole cash from the register. CN trainpersons, yardpersons prepare to strike Nov. 19
Canadian National (CN) Railway train conductors and railyard coordinators have declared their intention to strike Nov. 19 beginning at 12:01 a.m. Teamsters Canadian Rail Conference - Conductors, Trainpersons and Yardpersons union issued the 72-hour notice Saturday, on behalf of the 3,200 CN train conductors and railyard coordinators that they represent in Canada. MacLean says "Coach's Corner is no more" following Cherry's dismissal from HNIC
Ron MacLean addressed Don Cherry's dismissal with a lengthy monologue during the first period intermission of Saturday's "Hockey Night in Canada" broadcast, saying "Coach's Corner is no more." Sportsnet fired Cherry on Monday, two days after his on-air comments from last Saturday's Coach's Corner, which many felt were critical of immigrants for not wearing Remembrance Day poppies. Ontario Northland discontinuing Manitoulin bus service
Less than two years after the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) established passenger bus service between Manitoulin Island and Sudbury, the service is being discontinued, effective Nov. 15. The ONTC announced it would begin offering weekday return passenger bus service between Manitoulin Island and Sudbury in April, 2018. Read the full story here.

Holiday spirit flowed through the snowy streets of Downtown Sudbury Saturday night, attracting crowds of hundreds to the jingling bells and flashing lights of the 61st annual Sudbury Santa Claus Parade. Spectators lined the parade route bundled in their winter gear, with a candy cane in one hand and hot cocoa in the other. Some even thought to build a temporary fireplace at their spot on the sidewalk, to make for an extra-cozy experience. Find the full photo gallery here.
Wolves take 'heroic' leap back into the win column
The Sudbury Wolves showcased their superpowers at the fifth annual Superhero Game in support of the Children's Wish Foundation on Friday, securing a 4-1 victory over the Oshawa Generals. Oshawa flew into the Sudbury Arena on an air of confidence, having defeated the Pack 5-4 on their last visit to the Nickel City, but a lot can change in one month of OHL matchups. Impressive summer earns Everett McDonald another promotion

After dominating the northern motocross circuit in 2018, 16 year-old Everett McDonald set his sights notably higher this past summer, not only qualifying for the Canadian Grand National Motocross Championship in Walton, but excelling in his inaugural appearance at the competition.
