Laurentian Athletics has announced swimmers Ryan Smith and Kyleigh Commito as the Keg Steakhouse and Bar Athletes of the Week for Oct. 9 to 15.

Home isn't sweet for the Sudbury Wolves. The local Major Junior squad lost two straight games this past weekend, losing to Barrie and Oshawa. On Friday, the Wolves were dumped 3-1 by the Barrie Colts at the Sudbury Arena.

The Kal Tire Sudbury Junior Wolves announced they have added 18-year-old forward Jordan Cheechoo to their roster.

Hockey Canada released its roster for the Women's National team, and Sudbury's Tessa Bonhomme has made the squad.

8 This is the current number of games the Laurentian University men's soccer team has gone undefeated during a recent span of games. The Voyageurs started the streak back on Sept. 13 when they dumped Nipissing University 2-1.

Men's soccer The men are quickly becoming the comeback story of the year in the OUA. After missing the playoffs last season, and starting the year with 15 rookies, the Voyageurs have been wreaking havoc on opposing teams all year.

Five members of Benoit's Martial Arts are brushing up on their Spanish. The group has qualified to compete at the upcoming World Karate Championships, which will be held in Spain, beginning Nov. 6.

The Barrie Colts love to play the spoiler. The squad invades the Sudbury Arena tonight to take on the Sudbury Wolves, and they're looking to make over 4,000 fans go home unhappy.
