This year the DeSimone Foot & Ankle Centre staff is joining forces with Greater Sudbury Police to launch the third annual shoe drive for the homeless. Last year we collected 500 pairs of shoes during our shoe drive.

I am writing in response to Roger Trottier's letter, City of Greater Sudbury, no thanks Now, let me set the record straight.

This is in reference of the article written in Northern Life by Keith Lacey in the Sunday, April 27 edition.

I am writing to people who want to support the ethical treatment of animals. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) are now encouraging KFC to use poultry from sources that treat chickens in humane ways.

It was with more than average interest I read the article about the owner of Nick's Pier retiring. (April 16 edition). Nick Lagges has done much more for Sudbury than just being a business man.

We would like to thank our sponsors who helped make our trip to the National Wrestling tournament in Calgary earlier this month possible. We were able to represent Sudbury and bring home a silver medal.

It seems ridiculous Sudbury, being composed of the third largest bilingual population in Canada, will not fly a flag, representative of this fact. Thirty-six per cent of the population can speak French.

I would like to thank Jo-Anne Harrison and the Sudbury Student Services Consortium des services aux eleves de Sudbury for the action in ensuring the well being of our children on their bus route.

I want to thank the staff at MPP Shelly Martel's office. They helped me when I desperately needed some answers. Anybody who has dealt with the Family Responsibility Office knows dealing with them can be a nightmare.

On March 30, MP Ray Bonin presented The Queen's Golden Jubilee to the previous mayors of the Sudbury Region. It was a very special day for all of us. What made it extra special for me was to hear the short biography of Charlie White.
