A 24-year-old man was charged with assault, dangerous driving and breach of probation after an incident Sept. 13 in the parking lot of the downtown Tim Hortons outlet on Cedar Street.

Eight people are facing various charges after the victims of a robbery decided to get even with those who had allegedly committed the crime during the early morning of Sept. 13. The first incident occurred at around 1:45 a.m. on Mackenzie Street.

A 23-year-old man will be appearing in court after causing substantial damage to a pay phone booth. On Sept. 12, around 10 a.m., police attended to a mischief call in the area of 1500 Paris St.

Police received a report on Friday around 11 p.m., of two men interfering with construction markers in the Lasalle and Montrose area. The two suspects removed a number of black and orange pylons from the area.

UPDATE: Richard Karns returned home in good health on the evening of Sept. 11. The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the public's assistance in locating a missing 50-year-old man.

Protecting Sudbury isn't an easy task by any means, according to those who protect it, but Greater Sudbury Police Chief Frank Elsner said he will find time to meet with citizens and get the police out into the community to show their presence.

Police have identified the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Sept. 10 around 9:40 p.m.. The man succumbed to his injuries in hospital. At the request of the family, the name of the deceased will not be made public.

A police cruiser was involved in a collision at the intersection of Municipal Road 80 at Dominion Drive in Valley East, around 4:34 p.m. Wednesday.

Two men and one woman are in custody after members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service executed a search warrant on a MacLean Street residence Wednesday. The search resulted in a variety of drugs being seized, including: 31.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is asking for the public's assistance in locating Matthew Moxam, who is wanted for breaching his probation. Moxam, 26, is described as Caucasian, 5-11, 200 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.
