Impaired drivers rear-end other vehicles

Greater Sudbury Police responded to two motor vehicle collisions Aug. 28 and 29 which involved impaired drivers. On Aug. 28, a vehicle on Notre Dame Avenue collided with the rear of a stopped car. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

Pepper spray attack on Elgin Street

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for two men who appear to be in their 20s after they allegedly sprayed two men with pepper spray on Elgin Street in the area of the Samaritan Centre.

Woman tries to steal $200 worth of products from grocery store

A 24-year-old woman was caught by store security Aug. 29 at around 5:40 p.m. after she attempted to remove more than 30 products from Vrab's Independent Grocer on Regent Street. The products had a value of $200.

Driver injured in Hwy. 144 collision

A collision on Highway 144 just south of Dowling Aug. 29 at around 4:45 p.m. resulted in a 25-year-old man being brought to St. Joseph's Health Centre with non life-threatening injuries.

Possible drowning on lake near Capreol

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for a 21-year-old Sudbury man after he went out on a canoe on Parkin Lake north of Capreol and did not return. Police were called just after midnight Aug. 31 to search for the man, who may have drowned.

UPDATE - The driver of the vehicle that failed to stop behind the vehicle waiting to turn left has been charged with careless driving. One person is in hospital with minor injuries after two cars and a van collided on Howey Drive, around 10:40 a.m.
