Police received a vague Crime Stoppers tip that indicated a possible threat to an area student on Monday, Sept. 10.

Greater Sudbury police are presently conducting a criminal investigation after receiving information through Crime Stoppers about a potential threat against Lo-Ellen Park Secondary school.

Police were dispatched to the New Sudbury Shopping Centre on Sept. 11 at 10:45 am in regards to a weapon's complaint. Witnesses had observed individuals in the mall parking lot with what they believed was a pellet gun.

Jem-Mart on Kathleen St. was robbed on Sept. 11 at about 9:45 pm. Greater Sudbury police are investigating the incident, which involved two suspects who entered the store and demanded money, said a news release.

Huronia West OPP are investigating the death of a former Sudbury man. Roger Halvorson, 29, was found dead at 280 River Rd. East in Wasaga Beach. On Saturday, Sept. 8. Charged with the second-degree murder is Noah Coutts, 23, of Wasaga Beach.

The police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying two individuals involved in the robbery of a 17-year-old victim on Sept. 10, at 8:45 pm. on Granite St.

A 44-year-old male was charged for possessing child pornography and making it available on the internet after a lengthy investigation in conjunction with other Ontario policing agencies.

The property branch, currently located at police headquarters on 190 Brady St., is being relocated to the newly developed district #2 location at the Lionel E. Lalonde Centre, located at 239 Monte Principale St. in Azilda.

Three women were approached at separate times by a male and accosted while walking on the trail leading from Loach's Rd. to the rear of Laurentian University in Sudbury, said a news release.

Three girls are missing and believed to be in the Sudbury area. 1) Jessica Lynn Rivers, 17, has been missing since July 11. She is described as being 5'1", 110 lbs. with blue eyes and ear length dark brown hair with a light complexion.
