Dentist?s death in Orillia under investigation
Orillia OPP are conducting a ?very active investigation? into the murder of Sudbury native David Dumencu. Dumencu, 42, had been a dentist in Milton since his graduation from the University of Western Ontario in 1986.

Woman stabbed by acquaintance
Early Thursday morning a man stabbed a woman on Mont Adam Street near The Kingsway. During an argument, the man stabbed the woman 11 times. Witnesses stopped to assist the woman. She is now in hospital and is expected to recover.

Foul play is not suspected in the death of an inmate at the Sudbury District Jail late last week. According to a uniform staff sergeant, the inmate was found dead at about 6 pm Friday. The criminal investigations branch is investigating.
