Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers Inc. is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of Chris Wakegijig, 22. Wakegijg is wanted by the Greater Sudbury Police Service following an incident at a residence on Brock St.

As a result of an ongoing investigation and information received regarding individuals who were selling alcohol, cigarettes, producing and selling pirated DVD’s from their Front St.

BY LAUREL MYERS The lawyer of the man convicted of killing Sudbury Police Sgt. Rick McDonald pleaded with the court last week to cut his client some slack when deciding on his sentence.

A man is presumed drowned after his snowmobile went through the ice on Lake Penache, Truman Township, sometime between 10:30 pm and 11:15 pm on Feb. 29. Espanola OPP responded to the were advised of the incident at 12:30 am this morning.

An OPP officer was injured by a dog at approximately 11:30 pm on Feb. 29. The officer was responding to a neighbour dispute in the area of Park St. in the Town of Mattawa.

On the Feb. 28 at approximately 10:10 pm, a member of the Traffic Management Unit was conducting radar on Municipal Road 80 by McCrae Heights when he observed a vehicle traveling Northbound at a high rate of speed.

Update - Highway 69 reopened at 3:05 am this morning. The OPP is advising all motorists that Hwy 69 is closed two kilometres south of Pointe au Baril due to a jack-knifed tractor trailer and subsequent fuel spill.
