Senior players in the Sudbury Canadians soccer club have the taken young soccer players under their wing by leading soccer training programs throughout the summer.

With four games remaining in the Sudbury Canadians' season, the girls have grabbed onto first place in the Ontario Women's Soccer League (OWSL) Central Region northern division.

The Sudbury Cricket Club (SCC) will be hosting the city's first softball cricket tournament this weekend. The tournament will take place at Elm West Park, on White Avenue, in Sudbury. Games will run from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Sudbury Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will be taking its competition team to the Toronto Jiu-Jitsu Classic tournament, happening at Ryerson University on Aug. 9. This is the first Ontario tournament the team has participated in.

The Mountain View Fishing and Hunting Lodge in Markstay will be hosting a fishing derby on Saturday, Aug. 8. The tournament will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nepewassi Lake and is open to all ages.
