The 2008 Greater Sudbury Senior Winter Games is growing and making a difference in the community. From March to April, participants will engage in 10 events with the hopes of qualifying for the Provincial Senior Winter Games in 2009.

The Sudbury Wildcats girls' hockey team will introduce CBC's Hockey Night In Canada (HNIC) to millions of viewers across Canada on March 8. The introduction is part of the new pre-game show, Scotiabank Hockey Tonight.

The 50th Bonspiel of the Nickel Belt Men Teachers' Curling Association was held on February 22 and 23 at the Sudbury Curling Club.  Twenty-eight teams from Sudbury and other parts of the province took part in this milestone event.

The Snowplate 2008 Tournament will take place this weekend at the Practice Tee Driving Range, located at 1271 Goodview Road. The action runs all day on Saturday and Sunday starting at 9 am.
