BY SCOTT HADDOW After hoisting the 2006 city championship and losing a large amount of players to graduation, few gave the St. Benedict Bears senior boys' football team any hope this year of winning anything.

BY SCOTT HADDOW The Lo-Ellen Knights senior boys' football team is on a relentless crusade. The lads from the school on Loach's Road have taken no prisoners in their charge to the city championship game.

Hockey The Sudbury Junior Wolves host the Blind River Beavers tonight at the McClelland Arena. Game time is 7:30 pm. Sudbury is in second place in the NOJHL standings with a record of 7-1-6-2. Blind River is fourth, sporting a 5-2-5-1 record.

Athletes of the Week (For third week in October) Moriah Thorpe is a Grade 10 honour  student at Collège Notre-Dame and plays the position of point guard for the school's junior basketball team.

The Laurentian Voyageurs men's Soccer team took care of business recently, taking down the visiting Trent University Excalibur and earning a coveted playoff spot.
