Letters to the Editor

No fan of Rick Bartolucci - Mike Davis

Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci has recommended the Joe Mac Committee for a crime-fighting award. Is there really no end to this man's hypocrisy and blatant self-promotion? He is the JoeMac Committee. He founded it, and he's now trying to award himself.

More punishment for taxpayers - Jack Becvar

Sudburians thought they elected intelligent, fiscally responsible and generally astute people to manage and direct Greater" Sudbury's affairs. Our councillors proved us wrong.

Are you joking? - Gerry Goheen

I read the Upfront story on Page 3 last in the Wednesday, March 5 headlined Highways safer than ever. Certainly you are joking.

Solicitor General shocks reader - Harold Beaudry

I am amazed information carried in the Feb. 14, edition (about the Solicitor General's comments to the JoeMac Committee) has not been responded to by anyone.

Fitness classes - Sari Huhtala,

Get fit at the Capreol Lions Club every Monday from 7 pm to 8 pm. A weekly fitness class is being offered for all levels and all ages at the Lions Club.

Same old, same old - Joe Cimino

Same old city council, and not surprisingly the same old style of politics. During the very difficult budget period municipal representatives scurried to reduce the amount property taxes have to increase.

Telephone blues - Nellie Hlisch

Several months ago I moved to the Garson area, and much to my surprise I discovered phoning Azilda, Chelmsford and Capreol is long distance.

Store not closing - Richard Pulsifer

While serving a customer at our store in Val Caron last Saturday, I was stunned to hear her say she was sorry the store was "going under." Previously, a few customers had asked whether the store was closing as we are having a clearance sale.

More than coffee - Julie Lachance,

I was involved in a car accident with my daughter the morning of Feb. 18 on Falconbrige Highway in front of the Tim Horton's beside the Giant Tiger store.

Very upset - Isla McGee

I am very upset to think VON nurses lost their contract with the Sudbury-Manitoulin Community Care Access Centre. They are a very dedicated group of nurses who were such a blessing to me and my husband. His desire was to die at home.
