A 55-year-old Sudbury woman is facing charges of theft, assault, breach of recognizance and breach of probation after she walked into a LCBO store while intoxicated and attempted to steal a bottle of Glenfiddich Scotch worth $25.

Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a robbery that occurred at Pizza Pizzazz located at 3140 Hwy 69 North in Val Caron. The event occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 25.

At approximately 4 a.m. on Oct. 24, police officers responded to a call and found a 42-year-old man behind the wheel of his vehicle. The driver failed a roadside screening test, according to a police release.

On Oct. 23, at approximately 1 a.m., the Greater Sudbury Police Service received a call from Vale Security in regards to a suspicious vehicle on the company’s property in the Copper Cliff area.

Nothing in life is free, especially when dealing with $1,300 worth of groceries. On Oct. 23 at approximately 1:30 p.m., a 45-year-old man attempted to walk out of a local grocery store with 109 items in his cart.

UPDATE Oct. 26 - These car fires have been deemed by Greater Sudbury Police to not be suspicious. Early in the morning on Oct.

Greater Sudbury Police want to remind motorists that not everyone is able to maintain control of their vehicles in icy or snowy conditions, and that motorists who do are often lulled into a false sense of security.

In the last 24 hours, Greater Sudbury police have responded to 15 traffic accidents, two of which resulted in minor injuries. Police note that weather and road conditions were not a factor in any of the accidents.

A man who appeared to be so intoxicated that he could barely walk was observed by a bystander getting into his vehicle and driving away late at night on Oct. 18. The bystander phoned Greater Sudbury Police.

A man is in police custody after carrying a concealed pellet gun. Around 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 19, police were phoned after the man was spotted in a retail store in New Sudbury with what appeared to be a handgun under his jacket.
