A 39-year-old man is facing a number of fraud-related charges following a year and a half long investigation by members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service.

A man believed to be in his 20s robbed a Pioneer Gas bar in Val Caron at around 3:30 a.m. Oct. 16. The man entered the gas bar and demanded cash from the attendant, threatening him with what is believed to be pepper spray.

A lengthy investigation by five different police and protection agencies has led to the arrest of a 62-year-old Sudbury man. Police charged the man with internet luring, indecent acts, possession of child pornography and accessing child pornography.

Two Greater Sudbury police officers likely didn't expect a man to try to run them over, but on Oct. 12, a 49-year-old Sudbury man did just that. The two officers narrowly avoided being struck by the man's vehicle, according a police report.
