As temperatures start to climb, marine enthusiasts look forward to a long and enjoyable season on area waterways.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service's annual bicycle auction will be held on the morning of Saturday, June 14, rain or shine. The event will be held outdoors at the GSPS's Lionel E. Lalonde Centre, located at 239 Montee Principale Street in Azilda.

While on patrol, on the morning of May 22, a Sudbury OPP officer found a GPS (Global Positioning System) unit on the side of Highway 69 in front of the Highway 69 Variety confectionery store, City of Greater Sudbury (just North of Pioneer Road).

During the evening of June 12, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service responded to three bear complaints in different areas of the city. Officers attended the Long Lake area, Garson area and in Coniston, in relation to the bear complaints.

On June 11, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service attended an east end address of the city, searching for a 12-year-old ward of the Children’s Aid Society.

Officers with the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation section conducted an investigation into allegations of a male in the Sudbury area who was chatting over the Internet with a 13-year-old girl.

Officers arrested three adults after a quantity of marijuana was found at a residence on Notre Dame Avenue.

UPDATE: The Greater Sudbury Police Service advised that Jason Wood was arrested earlier this week without incident. Sudbury Rainbow Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of Jason Wood.

Two males from Val Caron were arrested in Mattawa on June 8 for being in possession of over 20 pounds of marijuana. Mattawa OPP charged the males as a result of a traffic stop on McConnell Street.
