A homeowner in Azilda awoke to noises coming from his yard on Dec. 18 at 5:20 am. When he realized that someone was attempting to steal his snowmobile, he went out to confront the suspect.

Police officers attended the intersection of Elm and Regent Streets to investigate a two-vehicle collision on Dec. 17 at 11 am.

On Thursday, Dec.13, Focus Sudbury sponsored a festive RIDE check at various points of Greater Sudbury. In total, 430 vehicles were checked resulting in eight suspected drivers having alcohol in their system.

An unknown male attempted to rob Douglas Variety Confectionary; located at 74 Douglas St., on Dec. 14 at 10:30 pm. The suspect, while brandishing a weapon, demanded that the clerk give him all the money and cigarettes.

On Sept. 22, 2006, police responded to a robbery that had occurred at the ATM on the corner of Durham and Elm Streets. The male victim, 51, stated that he was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money he had just taken out of the bank machine.

On Wednesday, Dec 12, the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which consists of members of the Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Section and the Greater Sudbury Police Service, executed a search warrant at a residence located on Estelle St. in Sudbury.
