A female is in police custody after shoplifting at the New Sudbury Centre and dragging a security officer with a car, which was also reported stolen. Police arrived at the New Sudbury Centre on Saturday after Sears security noticed the shoplifter.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service Joint Forces Drug Unit arrested a 28-year-old Sudbury man around 5 p.m. Friday on Elm Street, on information that the man was in possession of a controlled substance.

Greater Sudbury Police are investigating a drowning that reportedly happened during the evening of July 9 on Lake Wahnapitae. The drowning was called in by a member of the public.

Greater Sudbury Police laid several charges after conducting spot checks during the evening of July 7. A total of 135 vehicles were stopped. Three of those drivers had allegedly been consuming alcohol.

UPDATE - Robert Turcot has been found. The public is thanked for their assistance. The public’s help is needed in locating a missing 14-year-old male. Robert Turcot was last seen on June 21 in the Sudbury area.

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for a 40-year-old man who robbed the Clinicare Pharmacy on Lasalle Boulevard at gunpoint Tuesday evening. The man walked into the dispensary alone around 8:30pm demanding Oxycontin.

Greater Sudbury Police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed and punched a man in the head at the rear of the Rainbow Centre July 2 around 8 p.m. The suspects approached another man and asked him to empty his pockets.
