Youths caught red-handed

Two youths have been taken into custody after being caught with stolen property. On Tuesday morning, officers were called to a suspicious persons complaint in the area of Park Street in Hanmer.

Charge laid after death of off-duty officer

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid a charge in the June 29 collision which killed an off-duty OPP officer driving a motorcycle on Highway 17. Toronto resident Cullen Webster, 30, has been charged with careless driving.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a sexual assault that occurred on the evening of July 21 in the Donovan area. During the incident the victim fought off the assailant by biting him on the finger, causing an injury.

There have been a significant number of arsons in the Donovan and Flour Mill areas of the city. On the night of July 15 alone, there were a total of nine arsons; six were structure fires and three were motor vehicle fires.

Gun threats lead to charges

A man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly threatening to use a gun. The suspect made threats of using the firearm in the near future and described using it in past incidents.

Man robbed at knife point

Two females have been arrested following a robbery involving a weapon. At approximately 3:30 a.m Saturday, officers responded to a robbery complaint on Notre Dame Avenue. The incident occurred in the parking lot of the Mac’s convenience store.
