Investigation continues into Steelworkers' fire

BY BILL BRADLEY The recent fire at the 61-year-old Steelworkers Union Hall on Frood Road is suspicious in nature, said police Monday morning at police headquarters.

Assault on Greyhound Bus investigation continues

The Superior East Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is continuing the about five kilometres south of White River on Highway 17. Around 4:15 p.m., police were told a passenger had been assaulted by another passenger on board a westbound bus.

Items stolen from vehicles

During the day on Friday, officers responded to several theft complaints all with a common theme. A shotgun, a chainsaw and a laptop computer were all stolen from motor vehicles.

Name of man charged with Hanmer murder released

UPDATE: The Greater Sudbury Police Service have charged Patrick Bibeau, 20, of Sudbury, with first-degree murder in the death of Brian Burns. Bibeau is scheduled to appear in Bail Court.
