Name of man charged with Hanmer murder released
UPDATE: The Greater Sudbury Police Service have charged Patrick Bibeau, 20, of Sudbury, with first-degree murder in the death of Brian Burns. Bibeau is scheduled to appear in Bail Court.

Sudbury superintendent becomes chief
Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) Superintendent Allan Lekun has been appointed to the position of Interim Chief of Police of the West Nipissing Police Service for a six-month period, beginning Sept. 17. Lekun is a 20-year veteran of the GSPS.

ATV accident lands one man in hospital
One man was airlifted to hospital Saturday following an accident involving two ATVs. The accident occurred around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Coal Dock Road and Belle Ray Crescent in Nairn Township (near Sand Bay Trailer Park).

Two men were rescued Saturday after their canoe overturned on Lake Laurentian. Around 11:30 a.m., the Greater Sudbury Police Service, EMS and the fire department were called to the lake, located on South Bay Road.

Man found dead in Chelmsford business
UPDATED: Results of a post-mortem of the 34-year-old man found dead Sept. 15 in Chelmsford indicate that foul play has been ruled out. The scene has since been released. At the request of the family, the name of the deceased will not be made public.
